The first step in choosing the best courses after 12th is knowing what options are available. After all this is one of the most important decision in a student’s life. It is also a difficult decision because there are so many good options which are available these days but we do not know which is best for us.Here is a list of various courses that you can pursue after 12th PCM.
After finishing 12th science stream schooling, one may go for undergraduate B.E. or B.Tech. Engineering program. The course duration is 4 years. Some of the prominent branches of engineering are as follows :-

Admission procedure: National Level entrance test such as IIT-JEE, GATE, UPSEE, BITSAT and State level or entrance test.

Bachelor of Science
BSc in physics, chemistry, maths, astronomy, forensic Science, geology, statistics , industrial chemistry, nautical science, home science, nutrition, clothing and textile, extension and communication, environmental science, Human Development and Family studies (BSc), fashion design, fashion technology etc.
Eligibility: 12th Science PCM with minimum 55 %percentile
Admission procedure: Merit based admission, few institutes conduct entrance exam.
B.Com- (3 years)
Banking and Insurance (BBI-3 years)
Charted Accountancy (CA)
Company Secretory (CS)
Eligibility: 12th Science/Commerce with minimum 55%
Admission Procedure: Admission B.Com is based on merit. CA/CS has National Level Exam.
Many might be surprised on seeing B.Pharm. in this section! But yeah, even Mathematics group students may go for B.Pharm.!This course is 4 years long.Opening one’s own shop is another option! A combination of B.Pharm. and M.Pharm. can also ensure you a job in Research sector as well as teaching sector.
There is always a huge demand for teachers in science subjects. Most of the students find science as intricate and complex, so they also look for a good science tutor. For a teaching career, you have to get a graduation degree with good marks. And, after that, you can go for a degree course in education. You can also pursue master’s degree programmes.

There are three primary branches of any country’s defense, namely, the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force. If you are interested in job oriented vocational courses, ITI courses could be of help to you. Students may pursue ITI programs after completing 10th and/or 12th. Duration of ITI programs could be 1-2 years (depending upon the type of course).

Commercial Pilot Training
10+2 passed students (with PCM subjects) are eligible to pursue Commercial Pilot training. To secure admission, one must crack aptitude test and personal interview. BSc in Aviation Sciences.
Eligibility: 12th Science PCM with high percentile.
Admission procedure: Admission is based on an all-India written test, Pilot Aptitude Test (WOMBAT) and an interview. Required good eyesight and health.
If you want to pursue a law course right after 12th, integrated law programs will be of help for you. You must have completed Bachelor’s Degree to pursue LL.B. However, there also exists integrated law programs, which you may pursue after completing 10+2!
Examples of integrated law programs are –
- BBA + LL.B.
- B.Sc. + LL.B.
- B.Com. + LL.B.
